Cesare Baj is a science writer and editorial consultant. He started flying in 1970 at Aero Club Como Seaplane Base, Italy, where water flying activity dates back to 1913. He flew seaplanes for ten years before being rated on his first "land" aircraft, a Lake amphibian. Since then he has flown 3,000 hours in many kind of floatplanes and flying boats. He has visited seaplane bases all over the world and is committed to opening or keeping open European waters to water flying. He is a long-standing member of the Seaplane Pilots Association and of the Lake Amphibian Flyers Club. Baj is also author of a monumental history of water flying in the Como Province and a specialty book on Lake amphibians.
