What's a Podcast...?
A podcast is an audio file that has been "packaged" for easy listening and dissemination via the Internet.
You can listen to these audio files right on your computer while browsing, working, or just going about your
business. The files can also be downloaded, saved, and transferred to a portable audio device for listening
on the go. The term "podcast" was derived from the popularity of Apple's now ubiquitous iPod MP3 player, but podcasts
can be played by any similar device. The MP3 file format is to audio what ".doc" is to word
processing. It's simply a popular format that uses a specific process to compress (reduce in size) large audio files
to maximize the capability of storage media (hard disks, memory, etc.)
The "Finer Points" podcasts featured on the ASA website are published and hosted by San Francisco Bay Area CFI, Jason Miller.
Jason's sincere, relaxed presentation style allows him to clearly communicate the essence of a particular topic, lesson, or subject.
His innate love of aviation and passion for sharing knowledge are readily apparent in these Podcasts.
