What People are Saying
Dear ASA,
I found this to be an excellent way to study for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam. I went through a formal ground school and textbook prior to taking this video course. To study for the test, I watched each video segment (around 30 minutes to 1.5 hors each) and then used the included prepware software to work through the corresponding questions for that segment. The lectures were perfectly targeted to the essential information covered on the FAA written exam and an excellent ground school review. When I was done, I had completed all 750+ questions for the Knowledge Exam and I was ready to pass my test. It was great to see several of the premier avaition authors in the video. I've read their articles in AOPA Pilot and Flight Training magazines, so it was nice to put a face to the name. Overall my retetion was excellent and I was completely prepared for the Knowledge Exam.
Sincerely,
—Whitney B. Edmister, M.D., Ph.D.

- Will the widescreen version of Virtual Test Prep play on a regular television? li>
Yes, the widescreen version will play on a standard TV.
- I can’t get VTP to play on my Windows-based computer. Why is that? li>
Windows doesn't automatically come with the software that can play a DVD. It's a misconception that, for example, Windows Media Player can play DVDs. You may have other DVD playing software installed on your computer, that is better suited for playing DVDs. To find out, try the following...
With one of the VTP DVD's in the DVD player, open "My Computer". You will see something like VTPI_2 (D;) DVD Drive. Right-click on the DVD drive listing and select "Open With..." or "Autoplay" to see if Windows gives you any options to use as a dvd player besides Windows Media Player.
If not, software should be installed on your computer that is able to read the DVD. The simplest solution is to choose a DVD decoder add-in for Windows Media Player. It expands WMP so that it can read and play the DVDs for you. For more information and a selection of decoders, visit the Microsoft website.
