In order to purchase products from an online store, the shopper must enter personal information. The information collected may include names, addresses, shipping information, credit card information, website preferences, the website that referred the shopper, and any search phrases that were used to locate the ASA web site. At no time will Aviation Supplies & Academics, Inc. ever sell, transfer, or otherwise use the collected information for any reasons other than for normal store operation and for statistical or diagnostic purposes.
ASA's site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Our E-Commerce system uses industry standard SSL encryption when accepting payment information. In addition, sensitive credit card information is encrypted before storing. No monetary data is transmitted without an encrypted connection. All administrative areas in the system having access to shopper data are password-protected and served only from SSL-encrypted areas.
Cookies are used to deliver content, maintain the identity of shoppers, and to track items that the shopper wishes to purchase. A cookie is a small data file that some websites put on your local hard drive when you visit them. Our cookies contain an encrypted authentication token which contains the information required to maintain the shopping cart. Our system's cookies will not cause direct harm to the files on the shopper's hard drive by attempting to re-write other files or any other similar malicious activities. In addition, the cookies are created so that they are only delivered back to our E-Commerce site, and to no others.
