Notes on Compatibility:
ASA ebooks can be read on five devices total using e-reader applications that are compatible with an Adobe ID. To read eBooks on more than one device, the e-reader applications on those devices must be authorized with your Adobe ID.

✈ Which eBook file format is best for me?
Some ASA eBooks come in both PDF and ePub format. Use the information here to help you choose the best format for your needs.
PDF ebook (part numbers that end in -PD)
- Displays best on screens 10" or larger (iPads, laptops, desktop computers).
- The exact formatting and layout design of the print book is maintained (text, images, margins, page breaks, etc.).
- Not recommended for smaller screens (phones) as you will need to zoom in and pan around the page to read.
Epub ebook (part numbers that end in -EB)
- Easily viewed on both small screens (phones, e-readers) and large screens (iPads, computers).
- The text, pictures, and pages will adapt to fit the screen size of the device, so zooming will not be necessary to read.
- Text size can be adjusted in ebook reader app.
✈ For your Mac or Windows-based computer.
You can use each of your eBooks on five devices total. This includes your Mac and Windows-based computers as well as any mobile devices, phones or tablets that use Apple and Android operating systems and support eBook reader applications compatible with an Adobe ID.
To read eBooks on more than one device, the reader applications on those devices must be authorized with your Adobe ID.
To create an Adobe ID, or to recover lost or forgotten ID information like your login or password, click HERE.
To create an Adobe ID, open the web browser on your computer and enter "create an adobe ID" into the search function in your browser. Select the "Adobe-Sign In" link. On the Adobe Sign In page, click the "Create an Adobe Account" button to begin the process of creating an Adobe ID. We recommend keeping a separate record of your Adobe ID and password for future use.
Install Adobe Digital Editions
If you haven't already installed Adobe Digital Edtions on your computer, begin by downloading and installing this free software from Adobe HERE.
Once Adobe Digital Editions is installed, authorize it with your Adobe ID. Click the "Help" button in the top toolbar and select "Authorize Computer" from the dropdown menu.

Download Your eBook
To download your ebook, use the your web browser to log into your MyASA account at www.asa2fly.com. Click the "YOUR ACCOUNT" box on the left side of the page and choose the order summary number that represents your ebook purchase. In the order summary, under eBook Access, select the "Download My Product" link.
If your browser offers an Open/Save option during file downloads, choose 'Open with Adobe Digital Editions (default)'. This will open the Digital Editions reader and your eBook will then be added to the Digital Editions library.
If you choose the 'Save' option, or if your browser automatically saves with no indications, you must then navigate to your download folder ('My Downloads') and click on the scripted link file (URLLink.acsm) to launch it. Doing so is the equivalent of choosing the 'Open with' file download dialog option. It opens the program and installs your eBook into the Digital Editions library.
✈ For your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

Install ASA Reader App
If you haven't already installed the ASA Reader app on your iPad, begin by downloading and installing this free software from the App Store. Once the ASA Reader is installed on your device, authorize it with your Adobe ID. Touch the Info button in the Library view to verify the status or authorize the ASA Reader with your ID.
Download Your eBook
To download your ebook, touch the Get Books button in the Library view of your ASA Reader. Select the Purchased button and log into your MyASA account to see a list of ebooks you have purchased from ASA. Touching an eBook on the list will initiate the download and add it to your ASA Reader library.
✈ For your Android tablet or phone
You can use each of your eBooks on five devices total. This includes your Mac and Windows-based computers as well as any mobile devices, phones or tablets that use Apple and Android operating systems and support eBook reader applications compatible with an Adobe ID.

Install Bluefire Reader App
If you haven't already installed the Bluefire Reader app on your device, begin by downloading and installing this free software from the Google Play App Store. Once Bluefire is installed on your device, authorize it with your Adobe ID. Touch the Info button in the Library view to verify the status or authorize Bluefire with your ID.
Download Your eBook
To download your ebook, use the web browser on your device to log into your MyASA account at www.asa2fly.com. Use the "Open in Bluefire" button when given an option. This will initiate the installation of your ebook into the Bluefire Library.

Lesson Plans
This new book presents lesson plans for flight instructors in the form of scenario-based “maneuver briefings.” A rich resource for active instructors, these lesson plans are also helpful to CFI applicants preparing their own materials. Lesson Plans can also be used as a companion book for flight instructors who are following the principles of scenario-based training taught in Arlynn McMahon’s first book, Train Like You Fly: A Flight Instructor’s Guide to Scenario-Based Training.
Lesson Plans is designed to work in complement with any syllabus and the FAA Practical Test Standards (PTS). It explains how to teach each maneuver, making the flight instructor’s favorite syllabus curriculum even more effective and enjoyable for flight students. Each maneuver briefing features a series of drawings instructors can discuss with their students or replicate in the classroom and an accompanying script to teach from, which includes a story or motivation on the why and how the maneuver is applied in actual flight. Common errors are discussed in the form of keys to success, to positively inspire students to become sound aviation citizens.
In addition to the lesson plans, the book includes templates, checklists, and student assignments to build proper flight preparation habits and help determine the student’s readiness to act as pilot-in-command. These tools are especially helpful to the flight instructor ahead of the major flight training milestones, such as first solo, solo cross-country, and the checkride.
