Doug Chipman is a senior officer in the RAAF, currently serving as Commander of the Tactical Transport Group. He has over 5,000 hours as a pilot and has flown many service aircraft types. Doug's interest in ultralight aviation began when based in Canberra. He felt that with the interest in ultralights growing rapidly, ultralight instruction needed thorough and effective strategies; that budding ultralight pilots should learn not only to fly the aircraft but to fully understand its capabilities.
